Phoebe & Thomas
For their spring wedding, Phoebe and Thomas wanted a relaxed day, plenty of fairylights and an amazing wedding cake!
Clock Barn completely suited Phoebe and Thom’s vision for their wedding day. They loved the fact that, with all the separate rooms and indoor space, guests would always have somewhere to go without feeling in any way crushed or crowded.
“The second that you walk into Clock Barn, you know that you have to get married there. It was the first and last venue we looked at. Everything is done for you and, with the bunting and fairy lights, it’s so warm and had a fantastic atmosphere.” – Phoebe.
Thanks to the beautiful decorations that are always available at Clock Barn, Phoebe and Thom were able to relax and simply add a few touches of their own to bring the barn to life for their wedding day.
“We didn’t really have many decorations, purely because Clock Barn already has the bunting and fairylights that we wanted! We did do some DIY to make gold ‘LOVE’ letters and we also spray painted some clear vases in gold to put our flowers in.”
“The centrepieces were big bunches of gypsophilia from Blake Nurseries along with lots of greenery in our vases, and my bouquet was also gypsophilia with peach roses to match our colour scheme of natural, nude colours. Thom had a peach rose with gypsophilia buttonhole but somewhere along the line, there was a mix up and my stepdad ended up wearing the groom’s rose but we didn’t notice until the end of the evening!” – Phoebe.
Two vintage suitcases also sat ready for guests bringing cards and gifts and the scratch-card table plan was a real hit!
Thom had a definite vision of what he wanted Phoebe to wear on her wedding day and it wasn’t a traditional white gown:
“Thom really wanted me to wear black which I thought was a terrible idea! I visited Twirl Bridal Boutique in Petersfield and tried on a dress that did have black in it and as soon as I saw myself in it, I fell completely in love and knew that it was going to be the best wedding surprise ever for Thom as I’d told him I wouldn’t wear black!” – Phoebe.
Phoebe’s bridesmaids also wore black lace dresses and bride and maids accessorised with simple nude court heels. Phoebe also wore a custom made veil by Crown & Glory and Thom gifted his bride a pair of beautiful pearl earrings.
The groom and best man wore a gorgeous grey three-piece suit with bow ties and brown brogues and both received many compliments on their look during the day.
After their civil ceremony at Clock Barn, Phoebe and Thomas began their celebrations with their guests, enjoying Pomegranate Bellinis along with a whole range of canapés that included mini burgers, mini cottage pies and delicious mini toad-in-the-hole.
The wedding breakfast was yet another triumph and the menu included asparagus and poached egg starter, fillet steak as a main course and then Clock Barn’s famous trio of desserts, which was so good, Phoebe had seconds!
“I also think evening food is really important at a wedding – everyone needs a top-up! We had a cheese, meat and bread selection and everyone had told me how tasty it was.”
“Our cake was the most popular thing at our wedding and it’s all I’ve heard about! We had a three tier red velvet cake with sprinkles all over it and it looked amazing.” – Phoebe
Phoebe and Thom started the evening party with Elvis Presley’s ‘Can’t Help Falling in Love’ and then the bride’s brother and three friends took to the stage and played 50s covers that got everyone on the dancefloor
At the end of the evening, guests took home their favours – tea in little kraft envelopes decorated with the couple’s names and wedding date along with the motto ‘perfect blend’.
“My favourite moment of the day was hearing my music playing ready for me to walk down the aisle. I’ll always remember this. I don’t have any wedding regrets at all and neither does Thom.”
“My advice to brides to be would be to go with your first instinct for any decisions you have to make otherwise you’ll just keep changing your mind. Plan your wedding the way you both want it and don’t listen to anyone else – you’ll have an image in your head that no one else can see so just go for it!” – Phoebe.
