Ellen and Alex

After originally planning to have their ceremony at a registry office, Ellen and Alex were swept away by Clock Barn’s stunning interior, romantic Stable Room and scenic private drive.

Alex and I had originally planned a small wedding at Winchester Registry Office in 2011. But when things weren’t going to plan we decided to cancel and wait until we could do the date we really wanted. We viewed Clock Barn on a slightly wet day in October 2011 and really liked what we saw. I think the ultimate selling point for us on that day was the cosy Stable Room at the back, the perfect romantic wedding venue for our theme. It also meant that we didn’t need good weather on our wedding day.

The Stable Room and the bridal room make the venue slightly unique and unusual, the main barn itself is just stunning. The anticipation you feel when you first turn onto the private road is just brilliant and on our wedding day, it had all our guests guessing at what they would see at the end.

Our wedding theme was, “It’s all about the Love”. Clock Barn really doesn’t need much decoration – it’s stunning. The only decoration we had was bunting (provided by the barn), the orchids on the tables, with a few extra in the back room and on the wedding present table, then some hearts that I’d made for the main beams in the barn.
